About Me - Possum Expert

With 50 sharp teeth and sharp claws these fierce looking animals have a hiss that will make the family cat run away. These North American marsupials are fierce mothers and keep their young in their pouch until the babies reach the age of thirteen.

I have a possum in my roof, who do I call? Ghostbusters! In all fairness these guys probably aren’t going to help you very much right now. Unless you have a ghost as well!

Back to the serious stuff – if you have a possum in your roof, who do you call? One thing that is probably not advised is trying to deal with the situation yourself, so a call to the husband probably isn’t wise, as he will more than likely be as clueless as you are to the whole situation. Trapping a possum isn’t all that difficult, but there are a lot of things that you will need to take into account, so in all fairness, it is probably wise just to call a professional to do the job for you.

The local animal services probably aren’t going to be much help right now, unless it is information that you are after. They very rarely deal with wild animal problems, and are usually trained to deal with things such as strays, neglected pets, etc. They will, however, be able to give you information on local people that can help, as well as rules and regulations that would apply to your current situation; something that it is well worth you knowing, especially if you want to try and resolve the issue yourself.

The best people to call at a time like this, is the local wildlife company. You will easily find details of local people that can help by looking in the phone book or by having a quick browse online. From this point, you can get qualified advice from people that know what they are doing, as well an appointment time for the experts to come and give you a hand if you don’t want to deal with the situation on your own.
